Mairangi Bay, full of atmosphere is home to a number of great restaurants and cafes. Many locals start there morning with breakfast and coffee after a walk along the beach. With a small shopping centre the township here is always full of life.

Mairangi Bay is the only beach in the North Shore City with its own professional Surf Lifesaving Club. The beach has a small playground, reserve area and walkway over the clifftop and another along the shoreline which takes you to Murrays Bay beach.
A walkway along the shoreline at the southern end of the beach to Campbells Bay is often used for fitness for morning joggers and dog walkers.
